About Christelle and Go! Wine

As a registered Wine Specialist Guide, I’ve dedicated much of the past decade to crafting bespoke wine experiences for guests from around the globe, showcasing celebrated estates and hidden gems across the Cape’s wine regions.

Growing up in Stellenbosch sparked my passion for wine and all things culinary at an early age. In later years, this inspired me to leave IT Project Management, earn qualifications from the Cape Wine Academy and in Tourism, and ultimately, embark on a fulfilling new career in wine. In addition to curated wine tours, I gradually extended my repertoire to designing wine menus and conducting food and wine pairings for restaurants and cooking schools.

During the constraints of the COVID pandemic, life took me to Hexham, a small abbey town in the UK, where I embarked on a new-for-me wine direction, wine retail. During my tenure at Majestic Wines, I obtained my WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust) certification, significantly broadening my understanding of global wine regions.

Having recently returned to South Africa, I am eager to re-engage with the magnificent vineyards of the Western Cape and look forward to sharing its unique offerings and highly accoladed wines with you!

My husband and | went on a private wine tour with Christelle, and it was wonderful! The countryside is beautiful, and Christelle was very knowledgeable, kind, and easy-going. We saw 7 wineries across the two days and have several delicious meals. If you enjoy wine country in the United States, this certainly won't disappoint!

We had an amazing tour! We're not huge wine buffs but wanted to experience the ‘Wineries’ as everyone we know said you must do Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. After chatting to us and taking us to the first vineyard, our guide Christelle provided us with the perfect tour selecting wineries for us to visit that she thought would interest us and managed to fit in one that we had been recommended by a friend. As a result we tasted some fantastic wines, had a gorgeous lunch in the mountains and enjoyed a relaxed day with the conversation flowing easily between wine, politics and life in general! I'd thoroughly recommend Christelle and this tour company.

Thank you very much for the fantastic winery tour. We came back to Paris this Tuesday. We appreciate for your detailed explanation for the wines and wineries, and what is more we really enjoyed traveling with you! We were lucky that our guide was Christelle-san. I am now summarizing the visit and many information from you are the key knowledges for the summary. We hope that moving to UK will go well. When you come to Paris, please let us know. Let's have a lunch/dinner and of course WINE. Please have a pleasant New Year 2020.

You have to book this tour and make sure you ask for Christelle!!!!!!!!!!!!!My husband and I had the best time with her, and we felt like we were touring around the wineries with a celebrity because everyone knows her lol. She would walk in, and everyone would say hi to her right away! She is also insanely knowledgeable about wine and really passionate about it. | learned so much from her and can't wait to put my knowledge to use back home! | would not have changed a single thing about this tour, and we were so lucky with got paired with her. Thank youl!!!

We spent the day visiting several different wineries in the Stellenbosch-Franschhoek region. We went to a total of 4 wineries for tastings and 1 winery for lunch. The day was planned out very well. Everyone at the wineries was very friendly and the day went by really fast since we were having so much fun! Christelle was our guide and she was very knowledgable and made the day one to remember. I highly recommend this tour.

Crystal curated an amazing wine trip for my husband and me. She picked us up promptly on time and drove us in a nice private vehicle to the wineries of our choice. She tailored stops to our preference and took us to places well off the beaten path— to very exclusive, beautiful wineries in amazing settings. The wineries we went to have delicious wines and were very quiet— no crowds or touristy gimmicks. Great tour! I highly recommend.

An old college friend of mine and | did the Cape Point and Constantia wine tour with Christelle. We really had a great time. We were joined by three college students from Massachusetts. We began the tour by visiting the penguins. They were as cute as advertised. We all took a lot of pictures. Next, we went to Cape Point. My friend and | as well as one of the students decided to hike the trail from the Cape Point sign to the restaurant. It took about 45 minutes and the scenery along the ocean was absolutely beautiful. After lunch, we visited a couple of wineries on the way back to Cape Town. The wineries were quite impressive. Christelle is very knowledgeable about food and wine, and we really enjoyed her company and information. The wine growing region we visited is known for white wines, and the ones we sampled were really, really good. It was fun comparing the white wines we tasted in Constantia with the white wines | am used to in California. Overall, it was a great day. My friend even asked Christelle to marry him at the end of the tour, but she gracefully declined. Christelle, we're still wondering what a pork belly is, however.

My husband and I had a fantastic day with one other traveller and Christelle! She picked us up from our location exactly on time and we had a very comfortable trip in the air conditioned van to Stellenbosch/Franschoek and Paarl. The tour was made that very much better by Christelle’s extensive knowledge about the region (history included), its wines and wine making in general, and her clear established relationships to the wineries we visited. In total, we visited 4 wineries and a restaurant for lunch. All the wineries were excellent in terms of the quality of wine and picturesque locations. Finishing at Annandale with tasting some of the best reds we’ve ever had and meeting Hempies du Toit was a highlight and an excellent way to end the tour. Would highly recommend this tour, it was worth every cent!
